Job summary

Nazareth House Mallow is seeking a friendly Catering Assistant to join our kitchen and dining team in a residential care setting. You will assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, and help plan varied menus that meet residents’ dietary needs.

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, you will ensure high standards of hygiene, HACCP compliance, and cleanliness of all dining and kitchen areas, supporting a warm, person-centred dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Must have a Food Handling Course or equivalent training.
• Experience in dining-room work, preferably in a residential setting.
• Ability to adopt a person-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Help plan menus and offer varied meals to residents.
• Ensure residents' dietary requirements are observed.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Check deliveries and rotate stock.
• Follow HACCP policies and safety practices.
