Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association is seeking a Service Coordinator in Drogheda to lead and develop our Community Centre services for people with physical and sensory disability. You will drive person-centered programs and collaborate with the HSE, local authorities and community groups to promote participation and independence.

The role requires a degree (QQI Level 8 or equivalent) and at least 5 years of people management experience in disability services or similar.

Qualifications

  • Degree at QQI Level 8 or professional qualification in one of the listed disciplines; essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years of people management experience, ideally within disability services or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the service models in the Community Centre services.
  • Support the implementation of person-centered processes within the Community Centre services.
  • Develop and implement new programmes/services to support participation and independence in the community.
  • Conduct needs and risk assessments in partnership with people using the service.
  • Plan, monitor and review services based on identified needs and service plans.
  • Manage and lead staff to enable team development and meet IWA standards.
  • Oversee training and development of staff, volunteers and members.
  • Maximise utilisation of budgets and manage buildings and transport resources.
  • Ensure services align with IWA Standards of Practice and safeguard policies.
  • Build relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers where appropriate.
  • Promote capacity building and positive awareness of disability in the community.
  • Safeguard children and adults from abuse, adhering to safeguarding policies.
