Job summary
The Irish Wheelchair Association in Portlaoise seeks a Programme Assistant – Driver for a 20-hour per week permanent role. You will transport members safely to and from the Community Centre and support the delivery of activation programmes in the centre.
You will lead activities, assist fundraising, and perform administrative duties while ensuring health and safety standards and vehicle maintenance. QQI Level 5 qualification and a Cat B licence are essential.
Qualifications
- Full QQI level 5 in HealthCare Support is essential.
- QQI Major Awards listed include relevant health services modules.
- Category B driving licence is essential; D licence desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead programme activities within the Community Centre and implement daily programmes.
- Support fundraising initiatives and perform administrative duties.
- Transport participants to and from the Centre and manage bus maintenance.
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed and safeguarding policies observed.
- Mentor staff and volunteers in programme delivery and transport safety.
