Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Community Liaison Officer in Ireland to join the Stakeholder Engagement Team. You will be the main link between the project team and communities, building trust and ensuring transparent, inclusive engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

With a degree in land/planning and strong communication skills, you will engage diverse stakeholders, manage feedback, and support project communications. The role offers hybrid working and international remote opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in land/planning related discipline (e.g., Geography, Planning, or Estate/Property Management).
• Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and in writing.
• Experience on infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Flexible approach to workload with ability to multi-task and prioritise.
• Strong attention to detail, especially with complex legal documents and plans.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders including landowners, the public, community groups, businesses, and elected representatives.
• Serve as the primary contact for community queries, issues and feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of engagement activities and feedback.
• Discuss impact on land and mitigation measures with landowners.
• Support conflict resolution and constructive dialogue between stakeholders.
• Assist development and delivery of project communications (letters, brochures, leaflets, web content, newsletters, press releases).
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure community needs are reflected in information.

Overview

AtkinsRealis is one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services, with offices across Ireland. We are currently seeking an experienced Community Liaison Officer to join our Stakeholder Engagement Team to support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects from inception through to construction. As Community Liaison Officer, you will serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and the people impacted by the proposed development. Your mission will be to foster positive relationships within the community to: build trust, ensure transparent communication, and support inclusive engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Your role

• Engagement with a range of project stakeholders including landowners, members of the public, community groups, businesses, and elected representatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for community queries, issues, and feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of engagement activities and feedback received.
• Engagement with landowners to discuss the impact of project proposals on their land as well as agreeing proposed mitigation measures.
• Support conflict resolution and promote constructive dialogue between stakeholders.
• Support the development and delivery of project communications, including letters, brochures, leaflets, display material, web content, newsletters, and press releases.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure community needs are considered and accurate information is conveyed.

About you

• Degree educated in a land or planning related discipline e.g. Geography, Planning, or Estate / Property Management.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in face-to-face meetings, as well as written content such as letters, emails, and communication material.
• Experience working on infrastructure projects will be advantageous.
• Flexibility in approach to managing workload, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.
• Strong attention to detail particularly in preparing and reviewing complex legal documents and plans.
• A confident individual with a positive outlook and an approachable friendly manner.
• The ability to work effectively within a large team, or to work alone as required.
• A highly motivated individual who will contribute to the growth of the Stakeholder Engagement Team.
