Job summary

Kerry Parents and Friends Association (KPFA) in Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland, invites applications for a Community Access Facilitator to join our Day Services team on a permanent, full-time basis (39 hours per week).

The role focuses on supporting adults with disabilities to achieve personal goals, participate in community life, and develop practical skills, under person-centred plans and a Human Rights Based Approach, with flexible rosters and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Possess QQI Level 5 Health Care or NFQ equivalent.
• Equivalent Health Care qualification from another jurisdiction accepted.
• Relevant experience in community, social, or related settings.
• Flexibility around working hours may be required.
• Must have authorisation to work in Ireland; provide verification during recruitment.
• Hold a full driver’s licence and be willing to drive Association vehicles.
• At least one year’s experience supporting adults with intellectual disability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and progress meaningful, person-centred goals with the person supported and their circle of support.
• Support adults to make choices, build confidence and independence, and participate in planning.
• Promote active citizenship and community inclusion; develop valued social roles and connections.
• Identify opportunities for education, training, volunteering, work experience, or employment.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required; support navigation of community facilities.
• Maintain records, monitor outcomes, and contribute to continuous service improvement.
• Collaborate with families, multidisciplinary teams, employers, and advocacy groups to achieve outcomes.
