Job summary

Self Help Africa in Dublin is seeking a Communications Officer to manage written content for external audiences, and to lead on video production for digital channels and events. You will help shape the organisation’s stories across websites, social media and print materials.

You will collaborate with country teams, support fundraising communications in Ireland, the UK and USA, and contribute to public engagement events.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in media, marketing or related discipline.
• Excellent writing skills and ability to develop engaging stories.
• Ability to tell stories in clear, simple language.
• Ability to interview and gather content as testimonies of impact.
• High proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, InDesign).
• Highly analytical with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production and commissioning of written content for external audiences.
• Lead editing and production of video content for digital channels and events.
• Create compelling content for web and print and report on content performance.
• Coordinate content gathering with programme country teams.
• Support archiving and storage of content and assets.
• Travel to UK, Ireland or Africa as needed for information gathering.
• Contribute to public engagement events and organisational communications.
