Job summary

European Tech Recruit is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning, testing and handover of HVAC plants across Ireland and international sites. The role covers AHUs, chillers, CRAC units, BMS testing and client handovers, with a focus on quality and customer service.

The candidate should have 5+ years in HVAC commissioning, expert knowledge of chillers and Turbocor compressors, and hold a refrigeration & air conditioning qualification.

Qualifications

• HVAC commissioning and testing experience in critical infrastructure.
• Ability to integrate BMS interfaces and control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Commission, test and hand over HVAC plant and systems.
• Test AHUs, chillers, CRAC units and VRF/split systems.
• Prepare commissioning reports, checklists and punch lists.
• Liaise with QA/QC, project teams and client commissioning groups.
• Travel nationally and internationally to sites as required.

We’re looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering HVAC solutions across critical infrastructure projects in Ireland and internationally.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the commissioning, testing and handover of HVAC plant and systems, including:

• AHUs, chillers, CRAC units and VRF/split systems
• Full lifecycle HVAC commissioning and testing
• BMS interface testing and integration
• Snagging, troubleshooting, repairs and equipment modifications
• Preparing commissioning reports, checklists, scripts and punch lists
• Equipment walk-downs, installation reviews and client handovers
• Working closely with QA/QC, project teams, contractors and client commissioning teams
• Planned maintenance, reactive service and repair works
• Supporting projects both nationally and internationally

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar HVAC commissioning role
• Expert-level knowledge of HVAC systems and chillers
• Strong knowledge and experience with Turbocor compressors
• Third-level qualification in Engineering
• Formal qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing skills
• Willingness to travel internationally as required
