Job summary

Vibrant Recruits Ltd is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support customers and installation partners across Ireland, ensuring heat pump systems are installed and commissioned to the highest standards.

You will lead commissioning, technical support, fault-finding and training, with travel throughout Ireland. A background in Refrigeration or Plumbing and 4–5 years post-qualification is required, along with hands-on heat pump experience.

  • Hands-on heat pump installation and fault-finding.
  • Experience with domestic heat pump systems.
  • Good understanding of water-side systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

  • Providing first-line technical support to installers, contractors and customers.
  • Delivering technical and product training to installers and contractors.
  • Producing technical reports, commissioning documentation and recommendations.

The Role

As a Commissioning Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting customers and installation partners throughout Ireland, ensuring heat pump systems are installed and commissioned correctly and operate to the highest standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Commissioning domestic air-to-water and air-to-air heat pump systems.
  • Carrying out retrofits, refurbishments and technical inspections.
  • Providing first-line technical support to installers, contractors and customers.
  • Visiting sites to investigate installation and performance issues.
  • Diagnosing faults and providing effective technical solutions.
  • Delivering technical and product training to installers and contractors.
  • Supporting and developing an installer network through technical guidance and regular site visits.
  • Producing technical reports, commissioning documentation and recommendations.
  • Working closely with management and manufacturing teams to resolve product and installation challenges.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and helping drive installation and service quality across the network.
About You

We're looking for a time-served tradesperson with 4–5 years' post-qualification experience and hands-on experience working with domestic heat pumps.

We're particularly interested in candidates from either a Refrigeration or Plumbing background:

  • Time-served Refrigeration Tradesperson with 4–5 years' experience.
  • Hands-on domestic heat pump experience, including installation and fault-finding.
  • Good understanding of water-side systems and associated components.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
OR
  • Time-served Plumbing Tradesperson with 4–5 years' experience.
  • Hands-on domestic heat pump experience, including installation and fault-finding.
  • Good understanding of heating and water-side systems.
  • F-Gas certification would be advantageous.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

For either background, you'll need to be confident working independently, communicating with installers and customers, and explaining technical information clearly.

A proactive, solution-focused approach is essential, along with the ability to travel throughout Ireland as required.
