Mechanical Cx Lead / Mechanical CxM — Europe
ROSS Cx supports major data centre and mission-critical projects across Ireland and EMEA. We deliver commissioning across electrical, mechanical, and management disciplines, working with contractors and clients to test, prove, and hand over critical infrastructure safely and on time.
ROSS Cx is hiring a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer/CxM Lead for a hyperscale data centre program in the Netherlands.
This is a long-term assignment with real ownership of the mechanical Cx scope
CxM Lead What you'll be doing:
- Leading the mechanical commissioning scope on new data centre builds and upgrade works
- Running the full Level 1 to Level 3 process, from factory witness testing through to integrated systems testing and pull-down
- Witnessing and signing off chillers, cooling towers, dry coolers, CRAH and CRAC units, AHUs, pumps, pipework and valves
- Chilled water system flushing, cleaning, pressure testing and chemical treatment sign-off
- Water and air balancing, TAB oversight, and verification of flow rates against design
- Load bank testing and thermal performance proving, including failure mode and failover scenarios
- Reviewing and approving contractor method statements, scripts and test sheets before systems go live
- Managing the mechanical commissioning programme and sequencing against the wider construction schedule
- Owning the punch list, completions status and turnover packages for mechanical systems
- Acting as main point of contact for the client, GC and specialist contractors on mechanical Cx matters
- Chairing readiness reviews and reporting progress and metrics to the project team
- Mentoring mechanical Cx engineers and supporting handover to operations and facilities
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years in mechanical commissioning, ideally data centre or mission-critical, though strong candidates from pharma, semiconductor or large commercial HVAC will be considered
- Mechanical trade or engineering background. Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or an apprenticeship backed by the right site experience
- Hands-on knowledge of chilled water systems, air handling and heat rejection in a critical environment
- Comfortable running a commissioning programme, not just witnessing tests
- Able to hold contractors to a standard and keep the client onside at the same time
- Flexibility to travel across Ireland and mainland Europe as projects require
If you’re a results-oriented CxM or CxE who’s ready to lead critical infrastructure projects, we’d like to hear from you.
