Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Chef for Backweston Campus, Celbridge, Co. Kildare. The role is part‑time (24 hours per week, 3 days) with shifts Monday to Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm and a pay rate of €17.00 per hour.

You will work alongside the Head Chef, handling food prep, service, stock control and HACCP compliance to deliver high‑quality meals. This hands‑on position requires strong organisation, reliable teamwork and a patient approach to busy service periods, with a focus on food safety and

• Previous experience as a Chef in a professional kitchen
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food hygiene and allergen management
• Relevant food safety qualification
• Strong preparation, cooking and presentation skills
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
• Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach
• Flexibility to work additional days when required to support hospitality and business demands

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day kitchen operation
• Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard
• Complete mise en place and ensure food is ready for service
• Support breakfast, lunch, hospitality and special events
• Receive deliveries, check quality and temperature, and store products correctly
• Maintain FIFO stock rotation, date labelling and traceability
• Support stock control, ordering and food waste reduction
• Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards
• Safely manage dietary and allergen requirements
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen
• Complete cleaning schedules and HACCP/food safety records
• Report equipment faults, shortages and food safety concerns promptly

Sodexo is looking for an experienced and reliable Chef to join our team at Backweston Campus, working alongside the Head Chef to deliver high-quality food and a professional catering service.

This is a hands‑on role with responsibility for food preparation, service, stock control and maintaining excellent food safety standards.
