Job summary

Profleet Engineering is seeking a Project Cost Controller / Commercial Administrator to support financial and commercial control of mechanical engineering projects across Ireland and Europe. This full-time, permanent role is based in Cork, Ireland.

You will work closely with the Financial Manager, Project Managers and Commercial team to track costs, prepare valuations and maintain budgets.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years' experience in construction, mechanical, MEP or engineering.
• Strong project costing/commercial administration experience.
• Experience with valuations, variations and/or dayworks.
• Good understanding of debtors, creditors and project cost control.

Responsibilities

• Daily project cost tracking and reporting
• Monitor labour, materials, plant and subcontractor costs
• Maintain project budgets, commitments and cost-to-complete forecasts
• Prepare and track valuations/applications for payment
• Maintain variation and daywork registers
• Monitor debtors, creditors and outstanding project monies
• Sage posting and project cost allocation
• Support CVR, WIP and project margin reporting
• Identify cost overruns, unbilled works and commercial issues early

ProFleet Engineering Group is seeking a Project Cost Controller / Commercial Administrator to support the financial and commercial control of our mechanical engineering projects across Ireland and Europe.

This is a hands‑on role working closely with our Financial Manager, Project Managers and Commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily project cost tracking and reporting
• Monitor labour, materials, plant and subcontractor costs
• Maintain project budgets, commitments and cost-to-complete forecasts
• Prepare and track valuations/applications for payment
• Maintain variation and daywork registers
• Monitor debtors, creditors and outstanding project monies
• Sage posting and project cost allocation
• Support CVR, WIP and project margin reporting
• Identify cost overruns, unbilled works and commercial issues early

We are looking for someone with:

• 3–5+ years' experience in construction, mechanical, MEP or engineering
• Strong project costing/commercial administration experience
• Sage and strong Excel skills
• Experience with valuations, variations and/or dayworks
• Good understanding of debtors, creditors and project cost control
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

Experience within Mechanical, MEP, Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor or Power Generation environments would be highly advantageous.

Formal accounting or QS qualifications are beneficial but not essential. Relevant industry experience and strong commercial capability are more important.
