Job summary

FRS Recruitment is seeking a skilled CNC Service Engineer to join its field service team across Ireland, with Galway and surrounding areas as a base. You will install, service, maintain and repair CNC equipment while providing strong technical support to customers.

The role requires fault-finding in CNC/PLC systems, strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience, and a full driving licence, with opportunities for training and travel across the country.

Qualifications

• Level 6 qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline or a recognised mechanical/electrical/mechatronic apprenticeship.
• Experience with CNC and/or PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and fault-finding in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Fault finding on CNC machinery (electrical and mechanical).
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Installation and commissioning of CNC equipment.
• Annual servicing and preventative maintenance.

About the Company

A leading precision engineering solutions company is seeking a CNC Service Engineer to join its growing field service team. This is a nationwide field-based position, with candidates ideally located in Galway, Limerick or the surrounding areas.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Service Engineer, Maintenance Technician or Mechatronic Technician who enjoys fault finding and wants to develop specialist expertise within CNC machine tool technology. Working as part of an experienced team of Field Service Engineers, you will provide technical support to customers throughout Ireland, covering the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of CNC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Electrical and mechanical fault finding on CNC machinery
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
• Installation and commissioning of CNC equipment
• Carrying out annual servicing and preventative maintenance
• Providing technical support to customers
• Liaising with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to resolve technical issues
• Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics

Qualifications

• A Level 6 qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline, or a recognised mechanical, electrical or mechatronic apprenticeship, would also be beneficial.

Required Skills

• Ideally, you will have previous experience working with CNC machinery, PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment or within an industrial maintenance environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience
• Experience working with CNC and/or PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
• A good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
• Some knowledge of electronics
• The ability to read and interpret technical schematics
• Good computer literacy
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Good written and spoken English
• A full driving licence

Preferred Skills

• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems would be an advantage, as would an understanding of CNC code or Ladder Logic.
