Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Assoc. Security Engineer for the AWS Customer Incident Response Team (CIRT) to help customers respond to security incidents at planetary scale.

You will design and deploy automated security operations, collaborate with AWS service teams, and mentor peers while handling on-call duties. This role emphasizes scalable threat detection, incident response, and security automation across cloud environments.

Qualifications

  • Experience in scripting, programming, or security code reviewing in Python, Java, or C++.
  • Experience in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks via command line tools.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
  • Experience in industry-based security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques.
  • Experience in security operations, risk management, and incident response.
  • Fluency building with AI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee incident response operations.
  • Become a deep technical resource that earns the trust of customer stakeholders before, during, and after a security event.
  • Independently contribute to teams to build and deploy threat detection and incident response capabilities.
  • Design, build, and deploy solutions to automate security operations and incident response on AWS.
  • Mentor and invest in consultants, partners, and customers to raise the bar for our customers.
  • Develop high-quality content, such as automation tools, reference architectures, and white papers to help our consultants, partners, and customers.
  • On-call required.
