Job summary

RECRUITERS in Dublin seeks a Cloud Systems Engineer to help transition from on-premise infrastructure to a hybrid AWS model. You will design, deploy and optimise large-scale environments across cloud and on-premise resources, using IaC and automation.

The role covers AWS-focused migration work, collaboration with Agile teams, and exposure to networking, compute and storage in hybrid environments, with a path to scale across regions.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years' experience in systems engineering or cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on AWS experience; strong hybrid infrastructure knowledge.
• Experience with cloud migration/transformation projects.
• Experience with cloud networking (VPC/VNet, subnets, routing).
• Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably Terraform.
• Experience with Linux and infrastructure automation/scripting.
• Agile/Scrum experience in teams.
• AWS certifications.
• Kubernetes or container platforms.
• CI/CD and automation experience.
• Experience across multi-region/ AZs.
• Large-scale on-premise to AWS/hybrid transformation.

Contract: Long Term Project - Initial 1 Year to Start

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Systems Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong infrastructure experience who has worked across on-premise and public cloud environments, particularly those involved in hybrid cloud transformation and AWS adoption.

The Role

The successful candidate will help support and develop infrastructure as the organisation continues its transition from traditional on-premise/data-centre environments towards a hybrid AWS model.

You will work across infrastructure, cloud, networking, compute and storage, helping to design, deploy, troubleshoot and improve large-scale environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the transition from on-premise infrastructure to hybrid AWS environments.
• Design, develop and troubleshoot cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Work across AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud environments.
• Manage and support compute and storage infrastructure within public cloud environments.
• Work across on-premise and public cloud networking environments.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or equivalent technologies.
• Deploy, manage, support and troubleshoot infrastructure across multiple environments.
• Investigate complex infrastructure issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop automation and tooling to improve infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency.
• Support infrastructure running at scale across regional, zonal and potentially global environments.
• Work closely with engineering teams within an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in daily stand-ups and sprint activities.

Key Requirements

• 3-5+ years' experience in Systems Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
• Strong understanding of hybrid infrastructure, including on-premise/data-centre and public cloud environments.
• Experience supporting or contributing to cloud migration / transformation projects is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VPC/VNet, subnets, routing and connectivity between on-premise and cloud.
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience, ideally Terraform.
• Strong troubleshooting experience across compute and storage infrastructure.
• Experience managing infrastructure across multiple environments at scale.
• Experience with Linux and infrastructure automation/scripting.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
• AWS certifications.
• Experience with Kubernetes or container platforms.
• CI/CD and automation experience.
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience supporting infrastructure across multiple regions or availability zones.
• Previous experience in large-scale on-premise to AWS/hybrid cloud transformation.
