Job summary

Sun Life Financial in Waterford is seeking a 3rd year Cloud CCoE co-op student for a hands-on internship in Cloud Configuration & Compliance and Cloud Partner Engineering. You will rotate between areas to gain breadth across AWS services, cloud governance and continuous improvement efforts.

Working on-site, you will build technical, analytical and professional skills within a real-world cloud environment, supported by experienced team members and guided by standard processes and governance.

Qualifications

• Third-year co-op student required.
• Must be returning to studies after placement.
• Proactive in learning cloud platforms.
• Willing to work on-site in Waterford.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Cloud Configuration & Compliance and Cloud Partner Engineering activities.
• Learn AWS concepts: IaaS, PaaS, IAM, tagging, monitoring and cloud security fundamentals.
• Support analysis of cloud configuration, compliance and security findings, including reviewing trends, preparing reports and helping track remediation activity.
• Assist with compliance monitoring, automated evidence collection, audit support activities and documentation that help demonstrate alignment with internal standards, directives and policies.
• Work with Cloud Partner Engineering to support customer requests, cloud onboarding activities, account lifecycle tasks, service requests and guidance for application teams using cloud services.
• Contribute to operational support and incident-related activities by helping gather information, document actions, update tickets and follow established support processes.
• Build or improve simple cloud-based services, scripts, dashboards or reporting outputs based on defined patterns and team guidance.
• Work closely with team members, technical leads, management, specialized IT areas and application support teams to help deliver reliable, scalable and compliant cloud solutions.
• Prioritize and respond to service requests as appropriate, while learning how to communicate clearly with stakeholders and provide timely updates.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve documentation and reduce manual effort through automation where practical.
