Job summary

Sun Life Financial in Ireland invites a motivated Computer Science/Information Technology student to join our technology foundation team as an intern in a hybrid role. You will gain hands-on experience across application support, data support, and performance management / Site Reliability engineering, with exposure to cloud platforms and scripting.

This internship is open to current third-year degree students who must complete a placement as part of their course.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with basic programming concepts and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL).
• Exposure to cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide application support: assist in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of core business applications.
• Offer data support: participate in data management tasks, such as data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Explore infrastructure cloud exposure: gain experience in cloud-based infrastructure management, including deployment, configuration, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: work with IT, development and operations teams to understand the end-to-end technology landscape.
• Contribute to continuous improvement: identify areas for process optimization and system enhancements.
• Participate in training and development: engage in learning opportunities to expand technical knowledge and skills.
• Participate in InternConnect learning sessions.
