Job summary

The Royal Hospital Donnybrook is seeking a Clinical Site Nurse Manager (CNM2) to lead day and night shift operations within the Nursing Department. The post holder will support ward managers, deploy staff, and drive excellence with open communication, developing responsibilities in line with the post.

Job Description

Clinical Site Nurse Manager (CNM2) Grade Code 2119 Full time role, 1.0 WTE - Day and night shifts

The post holder will work within the Department of Nursing both on day shifts and night shifts. The post holder will collaborate and support ward managers to ensure that the clinical site is operating efficiently and at a standard of excellence. The post holder will provide an expert level of operational management and leadership. The post holder will act as a senior clinical advisor to wards, other departments, and disciplines. The post hold will efficiently deploy staff in conjunction with clinical nurse managers and encourage a culture of openness and participation through effective communication. This is a developmental post and roles, and responsibilities will develop in line with the post.

Candidates must have at the latest date of application: - Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

  • (i) Be a registered nurse, or be eligible to be registered, in the division relevant to the practice in which the application is being made on the Register of Nurses and Midwives held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NBMI). (An Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann).
  • (ii) Have at least five years post registration nursing experience including a minimum of two years experience in older persons, dementia, rehabilitation, general medical.
  • (iii) Two years management experience at CNM1 level or above.
  • (iv) Have completed a post graduate qualification relevant to the role.

And Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. Please note that eligible applicants will be those who have achieved a major award in the above listed Professional Qualifications. Annual registration (i) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the appropriate/relevant Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NBMI). (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann) for the role. And (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with the NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

Post Specific Requirements

Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience/involvement in evidence-based care, developments in older persons services and an interest in gerontology, rehabilitation, and management.

  • High level of clinical and operational knowledge.
  • Requirement of flexibility to meet the needs of a changing service.
