Job summary

Job Advert in Kilkenny seeks a Temporary Clinical Engineering Technician to join the hospital's Clinical Engineering team. Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Clinical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in hospital/healthcare environment desirable.
• Must be resident in Ireland with EU Passport or Stamp 1G/2/4/4D/5/4 EUFam.
• Willingness to undergo Garda Vetting and International Police Clearance if lived outside Ireland for more than 6 months after age 16.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, calibration and repairs on a wide range of medical and clinical equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment faults and breakdowns within the hospital environment.
• Diagnose technical faults and carry out repairs per manufacturer specifications and hospital procedures.
• Complete electrical and safety testing of clinical equipment as required.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and acceptance testing of new medical equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inspections, repairs and servicing.
• Liaise with clinical and hospital staff regarding equipment faults, servicing requirements and equipment availability.
• Provide technical advice and support to clinical users where appropriate.
• Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with hospital policies, health and safety requirements, infection prevention and control procedures.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Temporary Clinical Engineering Technician to join the Clinical Engineering team within a hospital setting in Kilkenny.

This is a full-time temporary opportunity for a suitably qualified technician to provide technical support across the hospital, helping to ensure that essential medical and clinical equipment is safe, functional, maintained and available for patient care.

The successful candidate will work closely with clinical staff, healthcare professionals, suppliers and other members of the hospital's multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Clinical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is desirable.
• Must be resident in Ireland and hold one of the following:
  • EU Passport
  • Stamp 1G
  • Stamp 2
  • Stamp 4
  • Stamp 4D
  • Stamp 5
  • Stamp 4 EUFam
• Willingness to undergo Garda Vetting.
• International Police Clearance is required if you have lived outside Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16..
