Job summary

AIB is seeking an experienced Level 4 – Associate Director, Origination for Europe, based in Dublin. You will support climate and infrastructure capital growth, manage risk, and drive deal execution across a growing portfolio with a team of professionals.

You will lead origination efforts, assess technical and credit viability, and work with cross-functional partners to advance sustainable lending initiatives across Ireland, the UK, Europe and beyond.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification with 5+ years in banking, advisory or industry.
• Strong financial analysis and credit skills.
• Proficiency in financial modelling is essential.
• Awareness of sustainable lending and a results-driven mindset.
• Team player with strong communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance customer relationships with Origination Directors.
• Lead analysis of new business transactions from technical, credit and suitability perspectives.
• Perform and review financial modelling and sensitive analyses.
• Lead credit reviews for new business and annual reviews.

Our Climate & Infrastructure Capital segment is central to the delivery of these ambitious targets, investing in large scale renewables and infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, Europe and North America.

This is a unique opportunity for experienced individuals to join this high performing, ambitious team, as we build out our international platform and directly contribute to global climate action goals.

You will be required to support best in class origination, risk management and deal execution across Climate & Infrastructure Capitals growing portfolio.

Key accountabilities;

• Work closely with Origination Directors to develop new and enhance existing customer relationships through good communication and customer focus
• Lead on the analysis of new business transactions from a technical, credit and suitability perspective
• Perform and review financial modelling analysis and run detailed sensitivity analysis
• Lead the credit review process for new business for consideration by the relevant Credit Authority as well as for annual reviews and transaction amendments
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with other parts of AIB, including Treasury and Corporate Legal, as well as industry contacts, lenders and legal counsel
• Form an integral part of the risk management culture in AIB and adherence to codes of conduct, laws and regulation
• Contribute in determination of risk and deal selection strategy
• Contribute to ongoing Credit Risk model development
• Support credit reviews and internal audit engagements for the Climate & Infrastructure Capital portfolio
• Manage transactions and help develop more junior staff members
• Communicate the impact and key risks and mitigants associated with same
• Make a difference through strategic lending to circular economy and sustainable businesses

What you Will Bring ;

• Relevant 3rd level qualification and 5+ years' experience within a similar area which could include Banking, Advisory or Industry. A professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA) would be an advantage.
• Strong Financial Analysis, Strong credit skills and Proficiency in financial modelling
• A proven awareness of sustainable lending and a self-motivated, analytical and results focussed mindset
• Team player with strong written and verbal communication and influencing skills
• Knowledge and experience of the development and business application of credit risk modules utilised for the calculation of regulatory capital or ECL would be beneficial
