About the Role
Crewit Resourcing is seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to support the delivery of construction and refurbishment projects in Cork. This role is ideal for a construction professional with a strong background in site supervision, quality control, building services, and contractor coordination.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary project team, ensuring works are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance while maintaining accurate project records and supporting project delivery from construction through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Inspect workmanship and materials, identifying and reporting defects or non-conformance issues.
- Maintain detailed site diaries, progress reports, and project records.
- Assist project managers, architects, engineers, and design teams with site inspections and project coordination.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure works progress according to programme.
- Monitor mechanical and electrical installations to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Support permit-to-work processes, commissioning activities, and contractor interface management.
- Attend project and site meetings and provide regular updates on progress and potential risks.
- Assist with compiling handover documentation and as-built records.
- Identify, track, and manage remedial and snagging items through to completion.
Requirements
- Recognised apprenticeship in a building or construction trade.
- Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience on complex construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and site procedures.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of construction contract procedures and site reporting requirements.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working on healthcare, commercial, or large-scale infrastructure projects is desirable.
