Job summary

DFDS is seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver to join its team in Ireland. You will be responsible for safe, efficient delivery and collection of goods across a range of destinations using a modern fleet.

The role requires a full HGV Class 1 licence, a valid tachograph card and CPC qualification, with excellent English communication and customer service skills. You will sign delivery notes, comply with European hours regulations, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 1 licence is required with a valid Tachograph Card and CPC qualification.
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken, to complete documentation and interact with customers and colleagues.
• Strong customer service mindset and professional attitude when representing DFDS.

Responsibilities

• Transport goods safely and efficiently to various destinations, handling deliveries and collections with a modern fleet.
• Ensure delivery notes are signed upon delivery.
• Adhere to road transport regulations and hours rules; comply with Working Time Directive.
• Deliver chilled, produce and ambient goods to customer premises.
• Record all activities accurately according to legal and company requirements.
• Ensure loads are secured safely and properly.

About The Role

You will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to a range of destinations, carrying out both deliveries and collections using a modern fleet. This role requires a strong team player with a customer-focused mindset and a proactive, can do attitude.

You Will Be Responsible For

• Ensure all delivery notes are signed upon delivery.
• Adhere to all road transport regulations at all times.
• Deliver chilled, produce, and ambient goods to customer premises.
• Accurately record all activities in line with legal and company requirements.
• Comply with European Drivers' Hours regulations.
• Work within the requirements of the Working Time Directive.
• Ensure all loads are secured safely and appropriately.

About You

You will hold a full HGV Class 1 licence and have a valid Tacho Card as well as a current CPC qualification. You will possess good English communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling you to complete documentation accurately and interact effectively with customers and colleagues. In addition, you will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and take pride in representing the business in a professional manner.
