Job summary

DFDS is seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver based in Rathcoole, Ireland. You will drive between depots and customer sites across Ireland, the UK and Europe, delivering chilled and ambient goods on time and in good condition.

Role requires a full, clean HGV Class 1 licence with CPC and tachograph card, plus strong English communication. Safety-minded, independent, and able to work as part of a supportive transport team.

About The Role

As a Class 1 HGV Driver working days or nights, you’ll be out on the road making sure our customers get their deliveries on time and in great condition. You’ll be driving from our depot to our other various depots, handling chilled and ambient goods.

You Will Responsible For

• Driving HGVs between depots and customer sites
• Delivering chilled and ambient products safely and on time
• Completing delivery notes and ensuring all paperwork is accurate
• Securing loads properly and carrying out basic vehicle safety checks
• Following road transport regulations, including driver hours and WTD
• Assisting with loading/unloading and ensuring loads are evenly distributed

You’ll be part of a supportive and friendly team in Rathcoole, where everyone pulls together to get the job done. You’ll be driving modern, well‑maintained vehicles and working closely with our transport team to keep things running smoothly.

About You

You’ll need a full, clean HGV Class 1 licence, along with a valid CPC and tachograph card to get started. Since this is a customer‑facing role, good English skills and a friendly, professional attitude go a long way. We’re looking for someone who is confident on the road, and takes pride in doing a great job. If you’re reliable, safety‑conscious, and enjoy working independently while still being part of a supportive team, you’ll fit right in.
