Job summary

DFDS is seeking a Day Driver to operate Class 1 vehicles, delivering chilled and ambient goods across our Irish network. You’ll work from our Rathcoole depot, driving modern, well‑maintained trucks and upholding safety and service standards.

You’ll need a full, clean HGV Class 1 licence, a valid CPC and tachograph card, and strong English communication. Join a supportive team serving Ireland and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Driving HGVs between depots and customer sites.

• Following road transport regulations, including driver hours and WTD.
• Assisting with loading/unloading and ensuring loads are evenly distributed.

About The Role

As a Day Driver, you'll play a key role in ensuring our customers receive their deliveries safely, on time, and in excellent condition. Based from our depot, you'll transport chilled and ambient goods between our network of depots, operating a modern fleet and maintaining the highest standards of safety, service, and professionalism.

This is a hands‑on role that suits someone who enjoys life on the road, takes pride in their work, and is committed to delivering an excellent customer experience every day.

You Will Responsible For

• Driving HGVs between depots and customer sites
• Delivering chilled and ambient products safely and on time
• Completing delivery notes and ensuring all paperwork is accurate
• Securing loads properly and carrying out basic vehicle safety checks
• Following road transport regulations, including driver hours and WTD
• Assisting with loading/unloading and ensuring loads are evenly distributed

You’ll be part of a supportive and friendly team in Rathcoole, where everyone pulls together to get the job done. You’ll be driving modern, well‑maintained vehicles and working closely with our transport team to keep things running smoothly.

About You

You’ll need a full, clean HGV Class 1 licence, along with a valid CPC and tachograph card to get started. Since this is a customer‑facing role, good English skills and a friendly, professional attitude go a long way. We’re looking for someone who is confident on the road, and takes pride in doing a great job. If you’re reliable, safety‑conscious, and enjoy working independently while still being part of a supportive team, you’ll fit right in.
