MWP is expanding its Marine and Coastal team and seeks Chartered Engineers with 8–15 years of post-graduate experience in Marine Civil Engineering based in Munster. Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with at least 8 years post graduate experience in Marine Civil Engineering.
• Experience in design and project management of coastal/marine projects from inception to handover.
• Experience in design and planning of large scale port facilities (quay walls, jetties, dolphins, container pavements).
• Knowledge of government/public contracts and NEC/FIDIC is advantageous.
• Experience leading port/marine projects in a consultancy setting.
• Strong understanding of current codes of practice and design standards.
• Proactive, good communicator able to lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Job description

MWP is an established multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy based in Munster, with offices in Cork, Tralee and Limerick. MWP’s Marine and Coastal team is in the process of expanding and we have a number of vacancies for talented and enthusiastic Coastal and Marine Civil Engineers.

These roles will suit candidates who are Chartered Engineers with at least 8 years’ experience. Requirements:

• Have a minimum 8 to 15 years post graduate experience in Marine Civil Engineering.
• Experience in the Design and Project Management of coastal/marine engineering projects from inception to handover
• Experience in the design and planning of large scale port facilities, including elements such as quay walls, jetties, dolphins and container pavements
• Experience in coastal flood risk assessment, hydrodynamic modelling and/or coastal protection would be beneficial
• Ideally have knowledge of government/public contracts and others such as NEC and FIDIC.
• Current experience of leading, managing and running, port/marine projects, preferably in the consultancy sector.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of current codes of practice and design standards.
• Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to lead others in a multi-disciplinary project team.
• Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills, and good written and oral communication skills.
