Job summary

About the Role

As one of Ireland’s most progressive and people-focused building consultancies, we are strengthening our civil engineering team with an experienced Civil Engineer to support the delivery of infrastructure, utilities, and site development projects across a range of sectors nationwide.

This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and technically challenging developments, supporting project delivery from planning and design through construction and completion.

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, public authorities, contractors, and clients to deliver efficient, compliant, and sustainable engineering solutions.

You will contribute technical expertise across civil infrastructure, drainage, water networks, and site development projects while supporting high standards of project coordination and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects from concept through to completion
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and engineering reports
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, public authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Assist with the design and delivery of drainage, water, wastewater, and site development infrastructure
  • Utilise CAD software and hydraulic modelling tools to support project design and analysis
  • Monitor project progress and support programme, quality, and budget control
  • Carry out site inspections and support construction stage activities where required
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, and health & safety requirements
  • Assist with tender preparation, procurement activities, and contract administration
  • Support stakeholder engagement and maintain strong client relationships throughout project delivery
Essential Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in civil engineering projects and project management
  • Strong understanding of CAD software and hydraulic modelling tools for water networks
  • Knowledge of water treatment systems, drainage, and water distribution infrastructure
  • Good understanding of relevant engineering regulations, standards, and industry best practice
  • Understanding of CESMM (Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement)
  • Understanding of Public Works Contracts
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, or public sector projects
  • Chartered Engineer status or progression toward chartership
  • Familiarity with Irish Water / Uisce Éireann standards and specifications
  • Experience in contract administration and construction stage supervision
  • Knowledge of BIM coordination and digital project delivery tools
  • Experience preparing technical reports, tender documents, and project specifications
