Job summary

Panda is seeking a Civic Amenity Site Supervisor to oversee our sites across County Monaghan and County Cavan from the Monaghan depot. You’ll lead the teams, keep operations compliant and safe, and help the public use the sites correctly.

The role requires supervisory experience in waste management or related operations, strong communication, a full driving licence, and willingness to travel between sites; Saturday rota flexibility is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with traffic, sales and other teams to resolve issues.
• Monitor safety, costs, stock and downtime.
• Travel between Monaghan and Cavan sites as required.

About the Role

Civic Amenity Site Supervisor

Location: County Monaghan and County Cavan Base: Monaghan depot, A75 P267 Contract: Full time, permanent Hours: Monday to Saturday, on a rota

Panda is looking for a Civic Amenity Site Supervisor to oversee our sites across Monaghan and Cavan. You’ll lead the teams, keep operations safe and compliant, and help members of the public use the sites correctly.

What you’ll be doing

• Supervise daily activity across the sites, including recycling buildings and open yards.
• Lead employees and subcontractors, making sure they are trained, equipped and following safe working procedures.
• Plan work and allocate people and equipment to maintain productivity and minimise downtime.
• Help customers segregate their waste and oversee its acceptance, storage and dispatch.
• Maximise material recovery, check the quality of outgoing recyclable loads and minimise disposal costs.
• Keep sites clean and safe, carry out inspections and maintain environmental and waste movement records.
• Coordinate plant and equipment maintenance with operators and maintenance colleagues.
• Manage attendance, holiday cover, performance and development within the team.
• Work with traffic, sales and other colleagues to resolve operational issues.
• Monitor and report on safety, costs, stock, downtime and housekeeping.
• Travel between the Monaghan and Cavan sites as required.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in waste management, recycling or civic amenity operations is strongly preferred. We will consider candidates with relevant supervisory experience in another operational setting and provide training on the waste sector.
• Experience leading a team and maintaining safe working practices.
• Clear communication skills and a practical, customer-focused approach.
• A full, clean driving licence and the ability to travel between sites.
• Flexibility to work Saturdays as part of a rota.
• Forklift, telehandler or weighbridge experience would be an additional advantage.
