We are looking to hire an ambitious Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). This control function role is a key leadership position which reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The CCO will work closely and collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders to achieve the desired results.

The CCO is responsible for developing and executing the organisation’s commercial strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability and market share. The role provides strategic leadership across Investments, marketing, proposition and pricing, M&A and key group and external partnerships, ensuring an integrated, data‑driven approach to acquiring, growing and retaining customers.

The CCO acts as the voice of the customer at Executive level, aligning commercial plans with overall business objectives and collaborating closely across the organisation to deliver long‑term value.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Market Positioning
  • Develop and own the commercial strategy to grow AUM, net new money (NNM), revenue and profitability across defined client segments.
  • Define target client segments (e.g. HNW, UHNW, entrepreneurs, families, intermediated clients) and align propositions and service models accordingly.
  • Shape the firm’s market positioning and value proposition versus competitors, including private banks, multi‑family offices, digital/robo advisers and asset managers.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments and competitor activity in the wealth management sector to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Oversee marketing, brand and communications strategy, positioning the firm as a trusted and distinctive wealth manager.
  • Develop integrated marketing and demand‑generation plans (events, digital campaigns, content, PR, sponsorships) targeted at priority client segments and regions.
  • Ensure adherence to brand standards and regulatory requirements in all communications and promotions.
  • Build the firm’s reputation for thought leadership through market insights, investment commentary, thematic content and relationship‑building activities.
Revenue AUM Growth & P&L Ownership
  • Own commercial revenue targets (management fees, performance fees, advisory fees, transaction‑related income, platform fees, etc.) and associated contribution margins.
  • Drive growth through disciplined acquisition strategies, wallet‑share expansion with existing clients and retention of key relationships.
  • Oversee pricing strategy, including fee schedules, discount policies, retrocessions and share‑class strategy, ensuring competitiveness, transparency and compliance with regulatory expectations.
  • Partner with Finance to manage commercial budgets, forecasts and profitability by segment, channel and product.
  • Provide strategic leadership and end-to-end ownership of the organisation’s mergers and acquisitions agenda, including pipeline development, deal origination, evaluation, negotiation, execution, and post‑deal integration to deliver sustainable commercial growth and shareholder value.
Product, Proposition, Investment & Fund Management Collaboration
  • Lead in‑house investment/fund management teams to align commercial priorities with the firm’s investment philosophy, asset allocation frameworks and risk management standards.
  • Help shape and periodically review the product and fund range (discretionary mandates, advisory portfolios, alternatives, structured products, ESG solutions, model portfolios), ensuring it is commercially viable, scalable and meets client needs.
  • Influence the design and lifecycle funds and mandates (launch, growth, closure/merger) from a commercial perspective, ensuring clear target markets, distribution strategies and financial objectives for each product.
  • Ensure that commercial initiatives and campaigns are consistent with investment guidelines, liquidity constraints and risk parameters agreed with the investment function.
  • Support demand forecasting and capacity planning for key strategies and funds, working with investment teams to manage soft‑closes, hard‑closes and product availability in a controlled manner.
  • Ensure that investment content, fund commentary and house views supplied by CIO and fund managers are translated into clear, compliant and compelling client‑facing and intermediary‑facing materials.
Data, Insight & Performance Management
  • Establish and own key commercial KPIs, dashboards and reporting frameworks.
  • Use data and insight to inform decision‑making, forecast performance and identify opportunities or risks.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across CRM and commercial systems.
  • Promote a test‑and‑learn approach, using experimentation to optimise channels, propositions and pricing.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product/Innovation teams to shape the product roadmap based on market trends, customer needs and commercial opportunity.
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, pricing, investment cases and performance tracking.

  • Align HR/People strategies (hiring, incentives, capability building) with commercial priorities.

  • Ensure commercial contracts, proposals and partnerships meet legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Manage commercial risk, including credit risk, pricing risk and contractual obligations.
  • Implement appropriate approval frameworks for major deals, discounts and partnership agreements.
Leadership & Culture
  • Provide visible, values‑driven leadership to the commercial organisation, fostering a culture of client focus, performance, collaboration and integrity.
  • Attract, retain and develop high‑calibre commercial talent, including succession planning for key roles.
  • Align incentive structures, scorecards and recognition to long‑term, client‑centred value creation rather than short‑term sales alone.
  • Role‑model ethical behaviour and professional standards in client and market interactions.

  • Demonstrable experience leading multi‑disciplinary commercial teams (sales, marketing, customer success, commercial operations).
  • Strong experience in building and managing high‑value customer and partner relationships.
  • Evidence of successfully developing and implementing data‑driven commercial strategies and pricing models.
  • Familiarity with modern CRM, marketing automation and analytics tools.
  • Degree in business, marketing, economics or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced qualification is desirable but not essential.
Personal Qualities
  • High integrity, sound judgement and strong alignment with fiduciary and client‑first principles.
  • Relationship‑orientated, discreet and trusted, with strong professional ethics.
  • Results‑orientated and resilient, with the ability to operate under regulatory scrutiny and market volatility.
  • Collaborative and low‑ego, effective in a partnership‑style or matrix environment.
  • Adaptable and forward‑looking, open to innovation in digital, hybrid advice and new wealth propositions.
  • Disciplined, determined and resilient
  • Has the cognitive ability to handle a very broad agenda.
