Job summary

Sheridans Cheesemongers in Naas is hiring a part-time Cheesemonger (16+ hours per week) to join the Nass counter in Dunnes Stores. You’ll welcome customers, share knowledge of Irish and European cheeses, and help them choose flavours and pairings in a lively retail environment.

No cheesemongering experience is required—just a passion for food and great conversation. We offer full in-house training, staff discounts, and potential career progression within the company.

We’re looking for a Cheesemonger to join our Nass counter in Dunnes stores on a 16-hour per week Permanent contract..

No previous cheesemongering experience is needed - just a genuine passion for food, great conversation, and a willingness to learn.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Welcoming customers and delivering exceptional service in a lively retail environment
• Sharing knowledge about Irish and European artisan cheeses, foods, and producers
• Recommending flavours, pairings, and products with confidence
• Caring for cheese to ensure it is presented and sold at its very best
• Maintaining attractive product displays and signage throughout the day
• Receiving deliveries and organising stock correctly
• Supporting stock rotation and reducing waste
• Maintaining food safety standards, HACCP records, and allergen awareness
• Keeping counters, fridges, and storage areas clean and well organised
• Assisting with seasonal displays, including hampers

What We’re Looking For

• Previous retail or food experience is helpful, but not essential
• A strong interest in artisan food, cheese, and local producers
• Friendly, confident communication and listening skills
• A positive, outgoing personality
• Ability to stay organised and calm in a busy environment
• Self-motivated and happy working as part of a team

Pay: 18 years old- €11.40 | 19 years old- €12.80 | 20 years old - €14.25
