Job summary

Sheridans Cheesemongers Ltd. is seeking a Cheesemonger for our Bishopstown (Bandon Road) location on a full-time basis. You will talk to customers, taste and share stories about artisan cheeses, and learn about producers while delivering excellent service.

You'll receive in-house training, gain hands-on experience with Irish and European artisan foods, and have real opportunities for career progression within the company. A great staff discount is also provided.

Qualifications

• Prior retail or food experience is helpful but not essential.
• Strong interest in artisan food, cheese, and local producers.
• Friendly, confident communication and listening skills.
• Positive, outgoing personality.
• Ability to stay organised and calm in a busy environment.
• Good attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and works well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers and delivering exceptional service in a lively retail environment.
• Sharing knowledge about Irish and European artisan cheeses, foods, and producers.
• Recommending flavours, pairings, and products with confidence.
• Caring for cheese to ensure it is presented and sold at its best.
• Maintaining attractive product displays and signage throughout the day.
• Receiving deliveries and organising stock correctly.
• Supporting stock rotation and reducing waste.
• Maintaining food safety standards, HACCP records, and allergen awareness.
• Keeping counters, fridges, and storage areas clean and well organised.
• Assisting with seasonal displays, including hampers.
