Job summary

Sheridans Cheesemongers in Cork City is hiring a Cheesemonger for a full-time, on-site role. You will talk to customers, offer tastings, and learn the stories behind Irish and European cheeses while building great customer experiences.

No prior cheesemongering is required — just a passion for food, excellent communication, and a willingness to learn. In-house training and staff discounts are provided as part of this role.

Qualifications

• No prior cheesemongering required; passion for food and learning is key.
• Strong interest in artisan cheese and local producers.
• Friendly, confident communication and listening skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and deliver exceptional service in a lively retail setting.
• Share knowledge about Irish and European cheeses, foods and producers.
• Recommend flavours, pairings and products with confidence.
• Care for cheese to present and sell it at its best.
• Maintain attractive product displays and signage throughout the day.
• Receive deliveries and organize stock correctly.
• Support stock rotation and reduce waste.
• Maintain food safety standards, HACCP records, and allergen awareness.
• Keep counters, fridges and storage areas clean and organized.
• Assist with seasonal displays, including hampers.

We’re looking for a Cheesemonger to join our Bandon Road (Bishopstown Court) location with full time positions available. No previous cheesemongering experience is needed - just a genuine passion for food, great conversation, and a willingness to learn.

What You’ll Be Doing
