Job summary

Moriarty’s Super Valu in Skerries, part of the Moriarty Group, is seeking an experienced Checkout Supervisor to join the Palmerstown Store's checkout management team.

This full-time role averages 40 hours per week over 5 days in a mix of weekdays, weekends and public holidays, with early starts and late finishes. Lead a small team, support CS desk, and help drive service across the department.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience supervising a busy checkout in retail grocery.
• Experience with Super Valu/Centra is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle customer queries.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day checkout operations alongside supervisor team.
• Ensure smooth department running while on duty.
• Supervise 8–10 staff on duty (15–20 total on the checkout team).
• Queue management and staff tooling provision.
• Cover customer service desk questions and inquiries.
• Oversee home delivery service out of the store end.
• Team housekeeping and compliance with legislation.
• Staff training and development programs.
• Stepping in to cover tills during busy times or when not on supervisory shifts.
• Assist the store manager in other areas when required.
