Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Catering Assistant to work in a hospital kitchen, supporting a large team to ensure a clean, safe working environment and to assist in plating patient meals.

You will need to follow instructions, communicate effectively, and work well on your own initiative. Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland must be completed, and a basic Food Hygiene certificate is desirable.

As a catering assistant you will be working in the hospitals busy kitchen to work as part of a large team to maintain a clean safe working environment & to assist in the plating up of all patient meals. You must have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, follow instructions and possess good communication skills.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

An Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but full training will be given.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for this role.
