Sodexo is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Catering Assistant to join our team at a busy corporate site in Leopardstown.
You’ll play an important role in delivering a high-quality catering service, supporting food preparation and service while ensuring counters, dining areas and kitchen facilities are maintained to excellent standards.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you’ll help create a welcoming experience for customers while supporting the smooth and efficient running of the daily catering operation.
Prepare, serve and replenish food across hot food counters, deli bars, breakfast stations and other service areas
Set up service counters to ensure food, utensils, displays, menus and allergen information are ready for service
Support the preparation and service of hot beverages within coffee shop areas
Deliver a friendly, professional and efficient customer experience across serving, retail and dining areas
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen, service and dining areas
Clean and sanitise equipment, workstations and service areas before, during and after service
Support with deliveries and stock replenishment, following FIFO stock rotation procedures
Operate the till system and process customer payments in line with company procedures
Support the management of staff breaks to ensure service areas remain appropriately covered during busy periods
Work closely with the Manager, Supervisor and Head Chef to support an efficient and high-quality service
Support the induction and development of new starters and agency colleagues, helping them understand site procedures and service standards
Mentor junior members of the team and promote a positive, professional and supportive working environment
Follow all relevant food safety, hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures
Support the wider catering operation during busy periods and events as required
Previous experience in hospitality, catering or food service is desirable but not essential
Strong customer service skills and a professional, welcoming approach
Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high standards
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
A positive, proactive and flexible approach to your work
Ability to work confidently in a busy service environment
Willingness to learn and support the development of colleagues
A team-focused attitude with a willingness to assist wherever required
