Job summary

Responsibilities

## Catering AssistantApply: Dublin: Full time: Posted Today: End Date: November 30, 2026 (30+ days left to apply): R291000**Job Title:** Catering Assistant**Reporting To:** Catering Manager**Contract Type**: Permanent full time, Specified purpose full time, Specified purpose part time.**Job Summary:**To ensure the service of patient meals and the service of meals in the Restaurant in a safe and courteous manner and the cleaning of the main kitchen as per main kitchen schedule. The fundamental philosophy guiding this position is to promote and preserve the Bon Secours Mission, Values and Ethos.**Key Tasks**1. HACCP systems are followed.2. Co-operate with the EHO with their visits to the Catering department3. When on wards distribution of menus to all patients. Sorting of thesemenus and informing main kitchen of final count in a timely manner.4. Monitoring temperature control, recording of fridge and hot/cold foodtemperatures and informing Supervisor of any incorrect readings.5. Ward catering staff to liaise with nurses and Dietitian regarding specialdiets, allergens or fasting lists.6. Ordering weekly stock from Stores and stock rotation of goods inaccordance with Hospital policy.7. Setting up patient trays correctly and ensuring Kitchen is always leftclean and tidy.8. Ensuring all charts are filled out correctly and any problems to theSupervisor immediately.9. Report any hazards or faulty equipment to the Supervisor immediately.10. To ensure all quality monitors are carried out and adhered to.11. Deal with small complaints in a timely manner and report unresolvedcomplaints to the Supervisor immediately.12. While working in the restaurant, dealing with the expectations of staff andvisitors.13. Act as cashier.14. Participate in training and retraining, including all statutory training e.g.,manual handling, fire safety, children’s first etc , to ensure training iscompleted on workday.15.
