We are now hiring a Full-time Catering Assistant to join our growing care team in Oakfield Nursing Home, Gorey, Co Wexford

Requirements
- Nursing Home experience is desirable but not essential
- Catering Assistant experience is desirable but not essential;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate withcolleagues, residents and their families;
- HACCP or other food safety training is advantageous, however not essential as this training will be provided;
- Knowledge of the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) is beneficial
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest standards of Food Safety and Hygiene
- Ensure that all work is carried out while ensuring resident and food safety.
- Practice and ensure that food safety and infection control guidelines are adhered to at all times and being practiced by employees.
- Work cooperatively and communicate with members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensures that all incidents are reported to the Head Chef and Director of Nursing/Person in Charge .
- Be professional, friendly and approachable in all interactions with residents, visitors and staff.
- Keep catering and food safety documentation updated and work s closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth day to day operationsof the catering department.
- Monitor stock levels of all equipment and supplies and report any deficits to the Head Chef.
- Support in the provision of a quality person centered dining experience for the residents
What to Expect
- Prepare food and support the cook/chef. You will also be required to support with kitchen duties (such as washing up) and provision of meal, drinks and snacks to residents.
- Practice and ensure that infection control guidelines are adhered to at all times and being practiced by employees.
