Job summary

Horizons Cork is seeking Care Assistants to join An Tuath Nua, Cork City. You will help promote independence through programmes addressing social skills, computer literacy, community integration, personal care, and more for service users with intellectual disability or autism.

Successful candidates will work in a flexible, person-centred environment, with an emphasis on teamwork and compassionate support, contributing to a life of choice for individuals every day.

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare/Intellectual Disability (all 8 modules completed as per QQI requirements).
• Fluency in verbal and written English is essential.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to promote independence in the lives of the people we support.
• Support people with intellectual disability and/or autism to flourish and lead a life of their choosing.
• Be flexible, motivated and work with individuals’ circles of support and local community.
