Job summary

Horizons Cork is seeking Care Assistants for Day Services & Community Hubs. You will support individuals moving from training centres to daily activities, aligning with UNCRPD and New Directions principles.

The role requires QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare/Intellectual Disability, understanding of relevant legislation, and excellent communication. A full, clean driver’s licence is desirable; shifts are Monday to Friday with some flexibility.

Qualifications

• Hold a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare/Intellectual Disability (all 8 modules completed).
• Good understanding of relevant legislation (New Directions, ADMA, UNCRPD).
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Full clean driver’s licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the transitioning of people from training centres to day services/community hubs.
• Work towards Personal Development, Active Participation and Citizenship for the people we support.
