Job summary

Avista CLG is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant for Kilbride, Children’s Residential Services, Co. Meath. This permanent full-time position (39 hours per week) supports people with intellectual disabilities in a person-centred, community-based setting.

Applicants should have QQI Level 5 in Healthcare and a clean driving licence, with English proficiency and a commitment to promoting service users’ active participation in local communities. Applications close 13 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Fully Completed FETAC/QQI level 5 in Healthcare qualification or (higher) equivalent comparable qualification.
• Experience working within the area of intellectual disability and with people who have Autism and Behaviours of Concern.
• Proficiency in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Support people to live their best lives and promote active engagement of service users in local communities.
• Develop skills and competencies around identified areas of interest and learning.
• Support persons to participate in community activities and daily living tasks.

• Minimum of Fully Completed FETAC/QQI level 5 in Healthcare qualification or (higher) equivalent comparable qualification.
• Experience working within the area of intellectual disability and of working with people who have a diagnosis of Autism and Behaviours of Concern.
• Full clean manual irish driving licence.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Desire to support people to live their best lives and commitment to promoting the active engagement and participation of Service Users in their local communities.
• Willingness to support persons to develop skills and competencies around identified areas of interest and learning.

Applicants should possess Level 1 behavioural competencies of Avista competency framework.
