Job summary

The Rehab Group in Castlebar, Mayo is seeking a part-time Retail, Catering and Hospitality Instructor to support the café’s day-to-day operation and deliver high standards of customer service. You will supervise learners and staff, provide direction and practical guidance to help participants develop skills in hospitality, food safety and service, and work with NLN staff to align learning with goals.

This fixed-term, 6-month role runs 25 hours per week (9:30–2:30, Mon–Fri) at Linenhall St, and

Qualifications

• Relevant food safety, catering or hospitality qualification is desirable
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe working practices
• Experience working in a café, catering or hospitality environment
• Experience supervising or providing day-to-day guidance to others
• Experience of stock control, ordering and/or cash handling

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily café activities, including opening and closing, task allocation, customer service and workflow, escalating issues as required.
• Provide day-to-day supervision, direction and practical support to learners and participants, allocating tasks and providing guidance appropriate to their skills and development needs.
• Support compliance with food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures, maintaining required standards, records and checklists and reporting hazards or incidents promptly.
• Monitor stock levels and support the ordering, receipt, storage and rotation of supplies while minimising waste and reporting equipment or supply issues.
