Job summary

The Rehab Group is hiring a Catering and Hospitality Instructor for a permanent, full-time role based at Breaffy Rd, Castlebar, Mayo. You will train learners, deliver QQI Level 4 and 5 Catering and Hospitality modules, and support students with career guidance in a supportive educational setting.

You will hold a third level qualification related to hospitality, plus QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer, with several years of relevant experience in learner-focused education.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification, preferably within the Retail, hospitality, or catering industry.
• QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer as a minimum.
• Several years’ experience working with Learners in educational, guidance or developmental contexts.
• Experience instructing QQI Level 4 and 5 Catering and Hospitality modules.

Responsibilities

• Provide systematic training according to the specified curricula for QQI Level 4 and 5 catering and hospitality.
• Instruct modules across Catering, Retail and Hospitality.
• Liaise with stakeholders to maintain programme allocations.
• Assist Learners in reviewing experiences and exploring future goals.
• Apply Health and Safety standards and procedures to training activities.

Job Title: Catering and Hospitality Instructor

Permanent, 36 hours per week.

Breaffy Rd, Drumconlan, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, F23 AY11

Salary starting from €35,740.34 - €43,319.87, based on experience, qualifications and experience.

Job Purpose

The Instructor is responsible for the training and development of Learners in accordance with the agreed local training programme specifications, together with the day-to-day running and maintenance of all aspects of the training programme. The Instructor assists Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to further education/employment.

Minimum Education & Experience Required

• Third level qualification, preferably within the Retail, hospitality, or catering industry.
• A relevant qualification - Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 as a minimum.
• A number of years relevant occupational experience of working with Learners in educational, guidance and/or developmental contexts
• Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, with responsibility for the instruction of QQI Level 4 and 5 Catering, and Hospitality.

• Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, with responsibility for the instruction of a number of modules in Catering, Retail and Hospitality.
• As part of a team liaise appropriately with relevant key stakeholders in maintaining programme allocations
• Assist Learners in reviewing previous experiences and exploring future goals, using a range of occupational interest, educational and problem solving techniques
• Apply all standards and procedures relating to Health and Safety Acts and maintain the highest levels of safety
