Job summary

Sysco Ireland is seeking a Butchery Operative in Dublin to join our fast-paced meat production and food preparation team. You will develop a good working knowledge of product, placement and inventory control techniques, manage goods inwards and stock control, perform weigh-ins and product specification checks, and oversee storage with emphasis on stock rotation.

You will also carry out end of week stock takes for the financial controller and contribute to maintaining high Food Safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be highly motivated and a team player.
• Ability to work on own initiative and follow procedures.
• Experience in a fast-paced meat production/food prep environment is advantageous.
• Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels and follow HACCP policy.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

• Develop a good working knowledge of product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures


• Goods inwards and stock controller


• Check weigh-in and product specification


• Oversee storage of products, particularly stock rotation


• Carry out end of week stock take for the financial controller


• Health and Safety of yourself and others around you


• Always follow Sysco preferred work methods, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions


• Reporting damages, accidents and issues relating to Food Safety


• Basic IT skills only required


• Hygiene in your department and good housekeeping


• Must be willing to support the Butchery team when available


• Induction training will be provided

Requirements

• Be a highly motivated individual

• Experience in a fast-paced meat production/ food preparation environment advantageous


• Follow procedures to comply with HACCP policy.


• Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business, as it relates to the job and the safety regulations


• Fluent in English language essential (both written and verbal)


• Experience of following food safety and quality procedures and policies.
