Job summary

Sysco Ireland is seeking a Butchery Operative in Dublin to join a team dedicated to quality and safety. The role focuses on working with meat products, inventory control, and adherence to HACCP procedures while supporting the butchery team and maintaining high standards of food safety.

You will contribute to efficient stock handling, accurate weigh-ins, and safe storage practices, while collaborating with colleagues across shifts. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

  • Be a highly motivated individual.
  • Be a team player with ability to work on own initiative.
  • Experience in a fast-paced meat production/ food preparation environment advantageous.
  • Follow procedures to comply with HACCP policy.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business, as it relates to the job and the safety regulations.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fluent in English language essential (both written and verbal).
  • Experience of following food safety and quality procedures and policies.
  • Flexible and adaptable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a good working knowledge of product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures.
  • Goods inwards and stock controller.
  • Check weigh-in and product specification.
  • Oversee storage of products, particularly stock rotation.
  • Carry out end of week stock take for the financial controller.
  • Health and Safety of yourself and others around you.
  • Always follow Sysco preferred work methods, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
  • Reporting damages, accidents and issues relating to Food Safety.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Health and Safety of yourself and others around you

  • Basic IT skills only required
  • Hygiene in your department and good housekeeping
  • Must be willing to support the Butchery team when available
  • Induction training will be provided
