Job summary

Sysco Ireland is seeking a Butchery Operative for Dublin to support production and stock control. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to food quality standards essential for daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will follow established HACCP procedures, participate in stock rotation, and assist the butchery team as needed. Induction training is provided to ensure compliance and safety.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English language (written and verbal).
  • Strong teamwork and self-motivation.
  • Experience in a fast-paced meat production/food preparation environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a good working knowledge of product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures.
  • Goods inwards and stock controller.
  • Check weigh‑in and product specification.
  • Oversee storage of products, particularly stock rotation.
  • Carry out end of week stock take for the financial controller.
  • Health and Safety of yourself and others around you.
  • Always follow Sysco preferred work methods, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
  • Reporting damages, accidents and issues relating to Food Safety.
  • Basic IT skills only required.
  • Hygiene in your department and good housekeeping.
  • Must be willing to support the Butchery team when available.
  • Induction training will be provided.

Key Accountabilities

Requirements
  • Be a highly motivated individual
  • Be a team player with ability to work on own initiave
  • Experience in a fast-paced meat production/ food preparation environment advantageous
  • Follow procedures to comply with HACCP policy.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business, as it relates to the job and the safety regulations
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent in English language essential (both written and verbal)
  • Experience of following food safety and quality procedures and policies.
