Job summary

Avoca Ireland’s Monkstown store is seeking a dedicated Butcher to support the team in delivering top-quality butcher products across Avoca branches. You will help prepare, present and portion products in line with approved recipes and store standards.

You will follow HACCP and food-safety regulations, contribute to stock control and supplier relations, and provide excellent service to customers while upholding Avoca’s tradition of quality and care.

Qualifications

• Timekeeping and attendance are required.
• Regular communication with line manager to maximise efficiency.
• Flexibility to cover roster changes and short-staffed days.
• Maintain consistently high quality aligned with Avoca standards.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and presenting butcher products to a very high standard.
• Following HACCP and food safety regulations and internal SOPs.
• Preparation and production of butcher product for Avoca stores per ordering processes.
• Excellent customer service for internal and external customers.
• Maintaining good relationships with suppliers while monitoring quality and pricing.

Butcher - Avoca, Monkstown

Job Specification

As an Avoca Butcher, you are responsible for supporting the Butcher Team in delivering consistently highquality butcher products in various Avoca branches as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and presenting butcher product in accordance with approved recipes and to a very high standard.
• Following all HACCP and food safety regulations, as well as any additional inhouse SOPs, labelling requirements etc.
• Preparation and production of butcher product to be sent to Avoca stores in line with internal ordering processes and procedures.
• Excellent customer service, for both internal and external customers.
• Maintaining good relationships with suppliers while remaining vigilant regarding quality and pricing.

Key Requirements

• Timekeeping - Excellent timekeeping and attendance is required in this role.
• Communication - Due to the changeable nature of this role, regular communication is required between you and your line manager in order to maximize efficiency.
• Flexibility - The nature of the business is dependent on customer service which requires certain aspects of flexibility such as roster changes, cover on days that are short staffed in all areas of the butcher sections as needed. You will be notified of these changes by your line manager
• High Standards of Quality - A consistent level of quality is required, in keeping with Avoca high standards in all stores.
