Contract: 2 Years
Location: Cork
Join Musgrave – A Legacy of Innovation, Community, and Excellence

Musgrave is one of Europe’s most successful family-owned businesses, with a rich 150-year legacy in food and brand innovation. We’re proud to serve communities across Ireland and Spain, feeding one in three people every day through 18 iconic brands like SuperValu, Centra, Mace, Frank and Honest, and Musgrave MarketPlace. By supporting thousands of retail and foodservice family businesses, we make a positive impact on the communities they serve. We’re committed to becoming the most trusted and sustainable business in Ireland, and we’re looking for dynamic, forward-thinking individuals to join us on this journey.

As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our Digital Team as a Business Analyst.

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the Musgrave PMO, supporting digital initiatives in a fast-paced and evolving environment. This role focuses on understanding business needs, defining clear requirements, use cases, acceptance criteria, improving processes, and ensuring solutions deliver measurable business value. It is distinct from Product Manager, IT Product Owner, and IT Business Analyst roles, with a strong emphasis on business analysis, stakeholder engagement, and value realisation.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead business analysis activities across digital initiatives, identifying business challenges, opportunities, objectives, and desired outcomes.
  • Elicit, analyse, document, and validate business requirements, process flows, use cases, and functional needs in a clear and structured way.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand current processes, identify pain points, and define opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Translate business needs into detailed requirements and support artefacts that can be used by Product Managers, IT Product Owners, IT Business Analysts, technical teams, vendors, and QA teams.
  • Support the shaping of initiatives by contributing business context, impact assessment, benefits, risks, assumptions, and change considerations.
  • Partner with Business stakeholders, Product Managers and IT Product Owners by providing business insight, evidence, and stakeholder input to inform roadmap and backlog decisions.
  • Collaborate with IT Business Analysts and technical teams to clarify requirements, resolve queries, and ensure business intent is accurately reflected in solution design and implementation.
  • Support vendor engagement by defining requirements, reviewing proposed solutions, and ensuring third-party deliverables align with agreed business needs.
  • Support solution validation, user acceptance testing, and business readiness to ensure delivered capabilities meet agreed requirements and are fit for purpose.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement reviews, and stakeholder discussions to drive alignment, decision-making, and consensus across cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain strong awareness of digital trends, customer needs, business priorities, and market developments to support continuous improvement and innovation.
What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will bring strong business analysis expertise, excellent stakeholder management capability, and experience supporting digital delivery and business change.

  • A third-level qualification in business, information systems, technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst role, ideally supporting digital, business change, or transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience eliciting, analysing, documenting, and validating business requirements, process flows, use cases, and business rules.
  • Strong experience working with business stakeholders to assess current-state processes, define future-state requirements, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience supporting digital product or technology-enabled delivery in a complex organisational environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-mapping capability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing business demands.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, stakeholder interviews, requirement reviews, and decision-making sessions across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Product Managers, UX Designers, Product Owners, IT teams, vendors, and testing teams to support successful solution delivery.
  • Experience contributing to user acceptance testing, solution validation, business readiness, and implementation support.
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience supporting change, transformation, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Exposure to Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience working in retail, digital, customer-facing, or multi-stakeholder business environments.
  • Formal Business Analysis certification or relevant professional training would be an advantage.
Essential Skills:
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across business and delivery teams.
  • Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation skills, with high attention to detail and clarity.
  • Strong facilitation, workshop management, and consensus-building capability.
  • Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert complex business issues into practical, structured outputs.
  • Ability to work effectively across business, product, and technology teams while maintaining a clear focus on business needs and outcomes.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
