Job summary

Musgrave Group in Cork seeks an Intelligent Automation Business Analyst to drive end-to-end automation using RPA, workflow, document processing and AI. You’ll partner with stakeholders, process owners and IT to map As-Is/To-Be processes and prioritise opportunities.

The role requires 3–6+ years BA experience, knowledge of UiPath/Automation Anywhere/Blue Prism/Power Platform, and strong stakeholder facilitation.

Qualifications

  • 3–6+ years’ BA experience in technology, automation or process improvement.
  • Experience with RPA, Intelligent Automation or process optimisation programmes.
  • Experience with automation platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Platform or equivalent.
  • Degree preferred; Business Analysis certifications are advantageous.

This role focuses on delivering end-to-end process automation outcomes by combining RPA, workflow automation, intelligent document processing and AI-enabled technologies. You will partner with business stakeholders, process owners and technical teams to move beyond task-level automation towards scalable, enterprise-wide process automation and Hyperautomation. This includes analysing complete business processes, identifying opportunities for redesign, and ensuring automation solutions deliver measurable business value aligned with enterprise standards and long-term adoption.

What You’ll Be Doing
Requirements & Analysis
  • Engage stakeholders to understand business needs for automation and intelligent automation use cases.
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements using Musgrave templates.
  • Identify data needs, system integrations, and dependencies early.
  • Define scope and measurable success criteria for each feature.
  • Ensure requirements reflect automation lifecycle needs, including process suitability, exception handling, controls and operational considerations.
Automation Discovery & Assessment
  • Identify, assess and prioritise automation opportunities using RPA, workflow automation, intelligent document processing and AI-enabled automation technologies.
  • Lead process discovery workshops with business stakeholders to identify manual, repetitive, rules-based and high-volume processes suitable for automation.
  • Support automation feasibility assessments, including suitability, complexity, exception handling and operational risk considerations.
Process Analysis & Documentation
  • Develop and maintain As-Is and To-Be process maps using BPMN and process modelling standards.
  • Create Process Definition Documents (PDDs), detailed business requirements, user stories and automation opportunity assessments.
  • Identify process optimisation and redesign opportunities to maximise automation benefits prior to implementation.
Backlog & User Story Management
  • Translate requirements into clear user stories and epics within Azure DevOps.
  • Ensure user stories follow Musgrave standards with clear acceptance criteria, test alignment and traceability to business value.
  • Refine and prioritise backlog items with the Pod Project Manager.
  • Maintain full traceability between requirements, stories and test cases.
  • Support sprint planning and core Agile ceremonies.
  • Work closely with RPA Developers, Solution Architects, Process Owners and Operations teams throughout the automation lifecycle.
  • Participate in solution design reviews to ensure automation solutions meet business and operational requirements.
Automation Delivery & Collaboration
  • Act as the primary contact for requirement clarification throughout automation delivery.
  • Collaborate with RPA Developers, Solution Architects and Operations teams to ensure solutions are scalable, supportable and aligned to enterprise architecture.
  • Facilitate demos, feedback loops and business engagement throughout delivery.
  • Support deployment activities and transition to operations, ensuring business readiness and adoption.
Governance, Controls & Value Realisation
  • Contribute to governance artefacts (e.g. Project Briefs, DPIAs, risk assessments), ensuring automation solutions meet regulatory, security and operational standards.
  • Embed GDPR, ethical AI and automation governance principles into all specifications.
  • Support solution and architecture review checkpoints.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validation and deployment activities.
  • Establish and monitor automation KPIs, including productivity improvements, cost savings, quality improvements and business value metrics.
  • Support benefits realisation and value tracking activities.
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Contribution
  • Contribute to the organisation’s Intelligent Automation and Hyper automation roadmap.
  • Promote best practices in process analysis, automation design and delivery across the AI & Automation function.
  • Support the transition from task-level automation initiatives to end-to-end process automation and enterprise-scale Hyper automation.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3-6+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst within technology, automation, digital transformation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working on RPA, Intelligent Automation or process optimisation programmes.
  • Experience with automation platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Platform or equivalent technologies.
  • Strong understanding of automation suitability assessment, exception handling, controls and operational risk considerations.
  • Proven experience documenting end-to-end business processes and identifying optimisation opportunities.
  • Experience working within Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills with business and operational stakeholders.
  • Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
  • Relevant degree preferred; Business Analysis certifications are advantageous.
Desirable Experience
  • Process Mining experience using tools such as UiPath Process Mining or Microsoft Process Advisor.
  • Knowledge of BPM, workflow orchestration and end-to-end process automation.
  • Understanding of Intelligent Automation technologies including OCR, Document Understanding, NLP and Generative AI.
  • Lean Six Sigma, Business Process Management or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Experience contributing to or working within an Automation Centre of Excellence (CoE).
Key Competency

Ability to transition organisations from isolated task automation initiatives to scalable enterprise-wide process automation and Hyper automation programmes through process analysis, process redesign, automation governance and stakeholder engagement.
