Job summary

Morgan McKinley in Ireland seeks an experienced BMS Engineer to join our team in Wexford. The role covers installation, commissioning, service, maintenance and fault-finding of Building Management Systems (BMS) with emphasis on Cylon and Tridium platforms.

You will work across commercial, industrial and critical environments, configuring graphics, alarms, schedules and integrating HVAC plant with BACnet/Modbus networks, while ensuring safety and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience as a BMS Engineer / Controls Engineer / Building Controls Engineer.
• Strong HVAC and building services knowledge.
• Experience with Cylon and Tridium Niagara systems.
• Proficiency in BACnet and Modbus communications.
• Ability to read electrical/control schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and configure BMS control systems.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of BMS installations.
• Diagnose and rectify BMS, controls and HVAC-related faults.
• Configure and modify BMS software, graphics, schedules, alarms and control strategies.
• Work with Cylon BMS systems, including controller configuration, commissioning and fault-finding.
• Work with Tridium Niagara platforms, including engineering, graphics, points, alarms, schedules and system integration.
• Integrate HVAC plant and equipment including AHUs, FCUs, chillers, boilers, pumps, VAVs and associated control devices.
• Work with common BMS communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, MSTP and IP.
• Undertake point-to-point testing and functional performance testing.
• Review and interpret control schematics, wiring diagrams, points lists and sequences of operation.
• Configure and troubleshoot controllers, sensors, actuators, valves and other field devices.
• Develop and amend BMS graphics and user interfaces.
• Investigate communication and network issues between BMS controllers and third-party systems.
• Complete commissioning documentation, test sheets and service reports.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and other engineers to resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers and site teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, energy efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and relevant standards.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced BMS Engineer to join our team, responsible for the installation, commissioning, service, maintenance, fault-finding and optimisation of Building Management Systems (BMS).

The successful candidate will have strong practical experience working with BMS and HVAC control systems, with particular knowledge of platforms such as Cylon and Tridium. • Previous experience as a BMS Engineer / Controls Engineer / Building Controls Engineer.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building services.
• Practical experience with BMS installation, commissioning, service and fault-finding.
• Experience working with Cylon systems.
• Experience working with Tridium Niagara.
• Good understanding of BACnet and Modbus communications.
• Ability to read and understand electrical/control schematics.
• Experience with BMS graphics, alarms, trends and schedules.
• Experience commissioning and fault-finding BMS controllers and field devices.
• Good understanding of HVAC control strategies and sequences of operation.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage site-based tasks effectively.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification as an electrician, building services, HVAC, controls or a related discipline.
• Electrical/controls qualifications are desirable.
• Relevant BMS manufacturer training or certification is advantageous.
