Job summary

GS Group is seeking a Senior BMS Engineer to deliver commissioning and testing across Dublin and wider Ireland. You will take ownership of BMS commissioning from pre-commissioning through functional testing, optimisation and client handover.

Experience with Trend, Tridium/Niagara or Siemens is preferred, with exposure to other BMS platforms also considered. Service Engineer candidates looking to transition into projects/commissioning are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in BMS commissioning and senior engineer level.
• Good understanding of HVAC plant, control strategies and building services systems.
• Experience with Trend, Tridium/Niagara or Siemens and BACnet/Modbus integrations.
• Willingness to travel across Leinster and work in live/critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead BMS commissioning, testing and fault-finding across projects.
• Complete I/O checks, point-to-point testing, functional testing and commissioning of HVAC and building services.
• Configure and commission control strategies, sequences, alarms, trends, schedules and graphics.
• Troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus and BMS network/integration issues with project teams.
• Support SAT/IST and client witnessed testing and handover documentation.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead BMS commissioning, testing and fault-finding across commercial, pharmaceutical and data centre projects.
• Complete I/O checks, point-to-point testing, functional testing and commissioning of HVAC and building services systems.
• Configure and commission control strategies, sequences, alarms, trends, schedules, setpoints and graphics.
• Troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus and BMS network/integration issues, working with panels, controls and electrical teams.
• Support SAT/IST and client witnessed testing, ensuring commissioning documentation and handover records are completed.
• Work safely within live/critical environments, following RAMS, permits, LOTO and site change‑control procedures.
• Coordinate with project, design, installation and QA/QC teams to resolve technical issues and drive commissioning through to completion.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to junior BMS engineers, helping maintain commissioning standards.

Experience Required

• Strong experience in BMS commissioning, ideally at Senior Engineer level.
• Good understanding of HVAC plant, control strategies and building services systems.
• Strong experience with one or more of Trend, Tridium/Niagara or Siemens – with additional platform experience advantageous.
• Good knowledge of BACnet, Modbus and BMS integrations.
• Experience working on data centres, pharmaceutical or other critical environments would be highly beneficial.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation and client-facing skills.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Leinster
