Job summary

Apleona is seeking a Building Fabric Technician to be based in Dublin 1. The role covers reactive repairs, routine maintenance, and coordination with the engineering team to uphold site standards.

You will ensure H&S compliance, manage permits, and support meeting room setups, while maintaining detailed records and contributing to continuous improvements. A corporate setting with regular inspections and service desk interactions awaits.

Qualifications

• Third level engineering qualification or trade qualification preferable.
• Previous experience in a corporate environment.
• Knowledge of operating various ticketing software/CMMS systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Previous experience working in a building services maintenance role.

Responsibilities

• Reactive cover for repairs to desks, windows, walls and doors etc.
• Regular site walks to determine areas that require renovation attention
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on building fabric per the site CMMS
• Assist engineering team with planned maintenance per CMMS
• Ensure H&S compliance and manage permits/documents
• Maintain records and assist with meeting room setup for events
• Maintain cleanliness and best practices; drive continuous improvement
• Liaise with service desk and respond to non-technical queries promptly
• Fabric maintenance including painting, decorating, furniture upkeep
• Assist subcontractors with sign-ins, permits and area orientation
• Track and resolve facilities requests in line with SLA
• Collaborate with engineers to identify and solve problems
• Support cost reduction initiatives across the site
• Be a self-performing technician and pursue self-improvement
• Complete necessary training within agreed timeframe
• Be willing to learn site systems and take on ad-hoc projects

Job description

At Apleona, We are always on the lookout for talented and dynamic individuals to join our team. We are currently recruiting for a Building Fabric Technician to be based in Dublin 1

Shift Pattern: Mon-Fri 10.30-19.00

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Reactive cover for repairs to desks, windows, walls and doors etc.
• Regular site walks to determine areas that require renovation attention
• To carry out planned preventative maintenance on all building fabric under our control as per the site CMMS
• Assist the engineering team to carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment under our control as per the site CMMS
• Ensure that all contractors and staff are H&S compliant including management & creation of documents(Permits)
• Maintain appropriate records
• Set up and reconfigure meeting rooms as per internal and external events
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and Good Practice, and ensure compliance during maintenance work
• Maintain an Best Practice’ regime and encourage continuous improvements
• Liaise with the service desk / Team Lead and respond to all non-technical queries in a timely manner
• Fabric maintenance, including painting and decorating, door furniture, office furniture etc.
• Assist subcontractors to allow them to carry out their tasks, for example signing in, work permits and showing to area
• Ensuring all facilities activities and requests are tracked and resolved in timely manner in line with the SLA.
• Liaising with department engineers and other support personnel to identify and solve problems
• Assist with the drive for 'Cost Reduction Initiatives' across the site from providing ideas though to implementation.
• To be a self-performing technician and continuously strive for self-improvement
• Ensure any training deemed necessary by your line manager is completed within the agreed timeframe
• Must be willing to take on and familiarize with all relevant site systems as deemed necessary to complete the role
• Take on ad-hoc projects from time to time as deeded necessary by the Client and / or Team Lead

Qualifications and Experience

• Third level engineering qualification or trade qualification preferable.
• Previous experience in a corporate environment.
• Knowledge of operating various ticketing software/CMMS systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Previous experience in a similar position and environment
• Previous experience working in a building services maintenance role
