Job summary

Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC in Ireland (Ballydine) is seeking an API Process Engineer to own manufacturing process equipment and drive improvements in product quality, yields and throughput. You will optimize processes, analyze data, and support GMP-compliant operations on site.

You will interface with new product development teams for product transfers, support technical transfers, and lead improvement initiatives across the production floor to enhance efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Background in API/NPI, production or related environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own manufacturing process equipment and product processes.
• Lead process and equipment optimization to sustain/improve quality, yields and throughput.
• Interface with new product development to integrate products at Ballydine facility.
• Support transfer of process knowledge for product technical transfers.
• Execute process development for existing/new products, including scale-up.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement activities with cross-functional teams.
• Provide on-the-floor technical support for process/equipment optimization and troubleshooting.
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental compliance goals are met.
